Below are some of the most common questions.

  • How long does it take to make the quilts?

My standard production time is 4-6 weeks from the date I receive the shirts. There are busy times of the year (October-December and March-May) where the timeline could be longer. I’ll always communicate with you on the current timeline.

  • Do I need to cut the shirts for you?

No. Just put them in the box and I’ll take care of it for you!

  • How do I ship my shirts?

Send your shirts with a copy of your confirmation email or order number. If you don’t have access to a printer, just write down your name and order number on a piece of paper and place it in the box.

    Ship to:

    Stitchin In The Middle

    10408 Outlook Dr

    Overland Park, KS 66207

If you have a desired layout, snap a picture of it and send it with your shirts. No printer? No problem. Simply email your desired layout to info@StitchinInTheMiddle.com, don’t forget to include your order number with your email. Contents of your box may shift in transit, so a picture of your desired layout is vital.

  • I live in the KC area, can’t I drop the shirts off to you?

Yes! Just send me an email and we can set a time for you to drop off your shirts in person. To waive shipping costs for local delivery/pickup type LOCALKC in the coupon box at checkout.

  • What types of shirts and fabric can I use?

There are many options beyond t-shirts that work well in my quilts. I can use polos, sweatshirts, scrubs, jerseys, fleece, polyester, and dri-fit materials. You can always email me with questions about the items.

  • How do I choose the additional fabrics for my quilt?

Once I receive your quilt, and get the shirts cut out, I’ll email you with color options. If you already know the colors or patterns you’d like to use, great! You can let me know at any time. I’ll always verify your fabric selections with you before attaching them to the quilt blocks.

  • What are my options for the back of the quilt?

There are a few different options. You can choose quilting cotton or flannel. Both of which come with batting in between the layers of the quilt for added warmth. You can also select fleece, which has a $10 fabric upgrade fee. Or a luxe faux sherpa for a $15 fabric upgrade fee.

  • If I change my mind about the backing how do I pay the enhancement fee after I’ve checked out?

No problem! You can purchase the “Fabric Upgrade” option in my shop.

  • How do I care for my quilt?

Stitchin In The Middle quilts are machine washable. For best results, wash your t-shirt quilt alone on cold. Dry on the lowest heat setting in the dryer. Do not iron or bleach the quilt.

  • What happens to all the left over fabric?

If you want the remains of the shirts back, I’m happy to send them to you with your completed quilt. Otherwise, they get turned into the stuffing for pet beds and donated to local pet shelters.
